An experiment from start to finish, I wanted to try the compound cutting and bending of a lute-style back and decided to start with this tenor balalaika. It was fun to make, and if I could find someone who knows how to play it, it would be fun to hear. My attempts at strumming it in the rapid balalaika style came with little, very little, success. It is a pretty instrument with an interesting tone. It is strung with two nylon and one steel string, as was suggested by the plans I worked from. NFS |
