Dumpster Diver 7-String

For my latest Dumpster Diver Series project I decided to make a 7-string guitar. A friend converted a couple of his guitars to have a doubled G string tuned to an octave like a 12-string guitar. I liked the full sound his guitars produced, and I always wanted one but didn't want to convert a good and/or collectable guitar. One of my headless dumpster-found Fender acoustics filled the bill.

I added the head, like I did with the other dumpster guitars, and drilled it for seven tuning gears. I used all mini Schallers so there'd be enough room for the extra gear on one side of the head.

This turned out to be a very good sounding instrument with low action and good sustain.
