I can't recall seeing any dreadnaught-style resonators before, but I thought it would be fun to build one. I was contracted to build this for the father of a man I've known for around 30 years. I've included two pictures of the guitar, one in its natural state, and one in its lacquered, finished state. In natural, this guitar sounded great. Unfortunately, the shiny, thick, black-lacquered finish that the father wanted dampened the sound quite a bit. I haven't built another guitar of this type yet, but I did convert a broken Fender dreadnaught acoustic into a National-style resonator a few years ago. (Click here to see the result.)
